SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--NSF, a leading public health and safety organization, announced on 11th that Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical) has earned the first certification in the country to NSF/ANSI/ 14 - Plastics Piping System Components and Related Materials (NSF/ANSI 14) for its XLS10B and XS10B High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipes.

Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical, established in 1988, is a global leader in the chemical and energy sectors. The company manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), polypropylene (PP) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) products, supplied worldwide.

“Achieving the NSF/ANSI 14 certification marks a significant milestone that demonstrates our commitment to delivering products that meet the highest global standards for quality and safety. We will continue to enhance our technological capabilities and product reliability to support sustainable infrastructure development both in Korea and global markets,” said Mr. Jiyong Park, Executive Director of Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical.

NSF/ANSI 14 is an American National Standard that establishes minimum physical, performance, health effects, quality assurance, marking and record keeping requirements for plastic piping components and related materials. The certification scope covers a broad range of uses, including potable and non-potable water, heating and cooling systems, fire safety, and more. Globally, there are over 53,000 certified products and 1,000 companies across a wide range of applications under NSF/ANSI 14.

To earn NSF/ANSI 14 certification, the pipes underwent rigorous laboratory testing and technical reviews. Additionally, NSF audited Hanwha Total Energies Petrochemical’s manufacturing facility to verify compliance with the standard’s requirements.

“NSF/ANSI 14 has been a trusted water industry standard since 1965, providing quality assurance while helping organizations to achieve higher-performing and safer piping systems,” said Jinhee Kim, Senior Manager of Water for APAC at NSF. “With Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical leading the way in pursuing certification, it is our hope that more Korean manufacturers will see the value of NSF’s rigorous product testing and expert auditing, and the positive impact it can have as they expand into new markets with confidence.” Soobin Shin, Senior Project Manager of Water for APAC at NSF, who led on-site communication and operational execution in Korea, added, “The outcome serves as a meaningful foundation for the global expansion of Korean companies.”
