Vestas Secures 31 MW Order in South Korea

SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--Vestas, a global leader for sustainable energy solutions, said that it has secured a 31 MW order for the Uljin Giseong Wind Power Project in South Korea.

The order was placed by the project’s Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner Kolon Global Corporation. The project is operated by Gi Seong Wind Power Co., Ltd.

The order includes the supply and supervision of installation of five V162-6.2 MW EnVentus turbines and a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement to ensure optimised performance and long-term energy production for the windfarm. Turbine delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Purvin Patel, President of Vestas Asia Pacific, said, “We are pleased to once again partner with Kolon Global Corporation on this important project. We highly value our long-standing collaboration and look forward to continuing our close cooperation to support the further advancement of wind energy in South Korea.”

He added, “As the country accelerates its energy transition, Vestas is proud to continue contributing with proven solutions and expertise, supporting the delivery of secure, affordable and sustainable energy to power South Korea’s future.”

The V162-6.2 MW turbine is part of Vestas' EnVentus platform, which brings next-generation technology to the market through modularity. The platform is designed to deliver higher energy production, reduced variability in cost of energy, and greater flexibility to meet customer and market-specific needs.
